GRAINS MARKET INFORMATION
Preharvest Notes of Interest:
- Harvest elevator hours
will be 8:00AM to 8:00PM. Keep us posted on your estimated start
date so we can be sure to have your elevator open by that
date. In observation of Independence Day, MCP currently plans to be
closed Friday July 3rd at all facilities.
- Harvest grain will be
received at 11.5% moisture at ALL MCP owned elevators with no green
immature kernels. Subsequent loads will be received up to 12%
moisture. Once 12% moisture is reached the next load must be 11.5%
or lower.
- Prior to harvest please
inform us (Donna or Lindy) of any changes in splits or ownership name
changes. This will enable us to provide you with accurate
information and reduce lag time and need for later changes.
- Trucks need to be
inspected for contaminants prior to harvest. We will inspect at
Biggs, Condon, Moro, The Dalles, and the Wasco Store and also at all
inland elevators when they are opened for the harvest season.
- Bushels delivered at
harvest in inland elevators participate in MCP’s trucking division
patronage.
- Our base rates at Biggs
and The Dalles are $.33 and .32 per bushel respectively. All MCP
owned elevator barge and truck freight remain subject to surcharges based
on fuel prices, with the exception of the first 12% of barge fuel
surcharges which are absorbed by MCP. All outstanding contracts will
be adjusted at time of settlement to reflect fuel surcharges and/or any
pricing differential changes based on the month of settlement.
- If you deliver to CLD
Pacific’s Arlington, Boardman or Lewiston facilities for MCP’s account
their current differentials off of Portland are $.43/bu. If you
deliver to CLD Portland for MCP’s account, MCP will charge a $.03
differential above any fees charged by CLD.
- Bushels DELIVERED AFTER
HARVEST to inland elevators (with the exception of seed stocks contracted
for delivery to the Wasco Seed Plant) will be charged an additional $.08
per bushel above differentials listed in chart below, and before all
surcharges. This does not apply to deliveries at the river
elevators.

Mid Columbia Producers DP Pool Agreements:
You should receive an invitation to participate in our Harvest Delivery Deferred Pricing Pool (DP). Look for more information in the mail. Get your forms in quick, we will be accepting them on a first come first serve basis.
We will be offering post harvest tools such as our average price pool. Please look for these announcements in the mail as well.
GRAIN PROCESSING PLANT
The Seed Plant is working on maintenance of all equipment and adding a couple new bins for the fall seed season. With volatile grain prices, there are always opportunities to contract seed and lock in a maximum for this fall.
The fall varieties this season are ORCF 101, Tubbs 06, Stephens, Madsen, Goetze, Coda Club and Strider Barley.
Just a reminder before you can pick up ORCF 101 you will need to bring in a copy of your Stewardship Grower
Agreement for 2009-2010 Season. We are looking forward to a great fall seed season.
