Grain Market Comments

  09/07/10 5:26:19 PM

Futures have fallen off this morning, taking a break from the recent uptick in the markets.  Cahs bids are mostly firm and are up in some months indicating demand is strong.  We will be watching the soft white exports for surprise buyers.  Australia reported that they are seeing better than expected sales through the end of the marketing year indicating that they are picking up sales that the black sea exporters would have normally made.  Not only will Pakistan import wheat but there is now discussion that they will have to import seed wheat.  Some was lost in the floods while other quanties have been consumed due to a lack of milling grain.  The volume of demand from Pakistan is still up in the air but this could be a major market mover once we know more.
